FAQ

EUROPA CANTAT is a festival open to everyone: you can come alone, with a group or with a whole choir! We offer a programme for amateur and advanced - when browsing our workshop offer, check first the level: A is for everyone, B is for good sight readers and who come prepared, etc. and choose the style/repertoire/conductor according to your level. When starting your registration please pay attention that you should register as a choir if you wish to perform and give an individual concert during the festival.

EUROPA CANTAT takes place from July 27th to August 5th 2018 in Tallinn, Estonia.

It depends on the length of the chosen atelier, but the rehearsals are every morning from 9:30-12:30 and on the final day there is the final concert in the afternoon, which is open for everybody.

While it seems that Tallinn and Estonia is a hidden gem far away from the mainland Europe, it is actually easily accessible – you can fly, sail, ride or drive to Tallinn from anywhere in Europe!

By Air

The city's international airport, Lennart Meri Tallinn Airport, provides excellent facilities and a wide variety of services. Its convenient location – just 4 km from the city centre – means transport to most destinations takes surprisingly little time.

You can also fly to Riga Airport (5 hours by bus from Tallinn) or Helsinki (Vantaa) Airport (2 hours by boat from Tallinn).

By Sea

Ships from Helsinki bring thousands of travellers to Tallinn's busy passenger port each day. There is an overnight ferry link with Stockholm and a weekly cruise ship connection to St. Petersburg. Large cruise ships stop in Tallinn from spring until autumn. Tallinn also welcomes visitors arriving with yachts.
Ferries cross the Gulf of Finland between Tallinn and Helsinki several times a day, covering the distance in roughly 2 to 3 hours. From late spring to late autumn, high-speed vessels also operate on the route, reducing travel time to just 1.5 hours.
Ferries between Tallinn and Stockholm depart every evening, with the trip taking approximately 15 hours.

By Bus

Two international bus lines offer connections to Tallinn from several other European cities. Regular routes connecting Tallinn with Riga, Vilnius and St Petersburg operate several times a day. International connections are provided by Lux Express and Ecolines.

By Car

Tallinn can be reached by car on the highways from Latvia and Russia, or via the car ferries from Helsinki and Stockholm. From Latvia, take Via Baltica highway. Travellers crossing from Russia should prepare for more time at the border as they are entering the Schengen area.

By Train

There are regular international train connections to Tallinn from Moscow. The railway station, Balti jaam is situated near the Old Town and harbour. Trains from Tallinn to Moscow depart daily.

Yes, EUROPA CANTAT is truly for everyone! We offer programs for children, so that the whole family can come and join musical programs. There will be musical kindergardens with professional day care for ages 0-3 and 3-6. Primary School children can individually join a children’s choir atelier.
